JLS singer Aston Merrygold is reported to be less than supportive of Frankie Sandford's chances of being a judge on The X Factor. The 23 year old would apparently rather see a Spice Girl on the panel.
Merrygold, 23, reportedly told the Daily Star: "The Spice Girls have got history. They've been there and seen it all. Obviously we love Frankie. We're mates, but someone who's been in the Spice Girls has got the real experience."
He added: "We'd love to guest judge the show. It's massive and we owe it everything."
JLS came second on the TV talent show in 2008 and it is rumoured they are angling come back to mentor competitors this year.
The boyband are said to have approached Louis Walsh, their mentor during their time on the show, for the chance to work on the hit series. They returned to the programme last November to perform their hit single Love You More.
